Barbara Thompson

Interior Designer

“In over 35 years as an interior designer, I do not recall ever writing a letter of recommendation containing as much praise as I can so easily give to Jim Brushaber.  He has all the qualities which make the collaboration between a designer and craftsman a total success.  Jim listens carefully and asks questions until he fully understands the scope of the project.

Jim and I have been working together for over 15 years and in this time he has crafted over 60 projects for me.  These pieces have included fixtures for a retail store in Cherry Creek North, multiple furniture pieces for a custom builder’s six million dollar home in Los Gatos, CA as well as numerous furnishings for both residential and commercial design clients.  I am giving Jim my highest recommendation”.

“Jim did exceptional work for me.  This was the first time I had commissioned custom furniture and Jim made it a fun and creative process, working closely with me to ensure he knew exactly what I was looking for.  The finished pieces are beyond gorgeous and exceeded my expectations completely.

The first thing that strikes everyone when they see the pieces Jim created for me is the extraordinary craftsmanship and attention to detail.  The pieces really evoke a sense of master design and wood working skills.  Jim not only produces fabulous pieces, but he does so in a very straightforward and timely process, such that your expectations are correctly set from the start…that is except for those concerning the furniture itself, those will be exceeded.”

Working with Jim to create my dream desk and two beautiful armoires was both exciting and stress free.  We had just moved to Colorado and I was having difficulty finding furniture that fit into our new home.  At the top of my wish list was a desk that would fit into an odd shaped niche in our kitchen.  I finally realized that in order to maximize the function of this space and achieve the look I wanted, I would have to have it custom made.  After interviewing three other carpenters, I was thrilled when I walked into Jim’s workshop.   Immediately, I felt Jim was the man for the job!  He was confident, yet humble, and exhibited skilled craftsmanship.

We still have a few empty spaces in our home and once we determine how we want to use them, I’m sure I’ll be giving Jim a call
